Right now you might not be thinking about doing anything about your weight, but you may be thinking ‘I’ll sort it out after Christmas‘ and so maybe you’re on the lookout for what you’re going to do then. If so, keep reading…
Losing weight is not as simple as just eating less and moving more. If it was, no one would be overweight and there wouldn’t be a billion dollar industry trying to help you to sort it out. I would be out of a job, in fact I wouldn’t be in it in the first place!
There is so much information and there are so many resources out there, but how do you know who and what to choose and where to start? And how do you know if they are any good?
What really matters is not just the losing weight, but the keeping it off.
And that’s my speciality.
While diets have their place, I work with you at a much deeper level, to fundamentally change your thinking, your attitudes and your behaviour, and give you new knowledge and skills, so that whatever healthy approach you choose to lose weight, you will be able to stick at it, AND keep the weight off.

What makes my approach different
Most of the ‘lose weight after Christmas‘ or ‘tackle your Christmas weight gain‘ programmes are focussed on exactly that.. jumping straight into a programme where you hope to tackle any Christmas weight gain and ‘lose Christmas weight fast‘.
That all sounds great and we buy into that ‘New Year-New You‘ motivation, but unfortunately, New Year weight loss attempts are often ancient history by the end of January, because we don’t follow them properly.
Maybe it was too strict for you and you hate being told what to do?
Maybe it wasn’t strict enough and you need to be told what to do?
Maybe it was designed for cooking lovers and you hate cooking?
Maybe it was involving 6am bootcamps and you don’t get up before 7?…
Maybe it was impossible to follow along with the rest of the family or your busy work schedule?
Maybe you’re an emotional eater so didn’t know how to stick with it through life’s ups and downs?
We’re all different so it could be a variety of reasons. But whatever it is, that initial spark of motivation fizzles out and we give up.

Rather than put you straight on a diet, by following my ‘Preparing for a New You in ’22… and Beyond‘ programme, I help you to take a step back and fully prepare for losing weight, and not just your Christmas weight, but any excess weight you might be fed up with carrying around.
I help you to put in place all the right foundations BEFORE you lose weight, so that THIS TIME you DO follow it properly. So that this time you go the distance and keep it off.
I help you to lose weight before Christmas, after Christmas, or any time, with no quick-fix New Years Resolutions in sight. I can also help you to avoid putting on weight over Christmas with my ‘Christmas Survival Programme’ (see more about that below).
By the time you finish my programme, the New Year weight loss honeymoon period will be over, and you can feel smug because you won’t have bought in to it this time. You’re in it for the long game, and as long as you do the work, you will be truly ready to tackle your weight, once and for all.
We work together on your mindset as well as using practical tools, and develop your knowledge and understanding, so you can design your own healthy approach or choose any well-known safe and effective programme of your choice, knowing that it will be a good fit for your life and your personality, and you will enjoy following it.
You will put in place expectations that are realistic for YOUR life (not idealistic ones like ‘lose a stone in a month‘ or ‘drop a dress size in 2 weeks‘), develop the skills and resilience to be able to stick with it for as long as it takes to lose your weight, and then manage your weight well for life.
Keeping it off is what matters the most
Depending on what reports you read, estimates are that within 2 years of losing weight, 50% of people have regained their weight, and within 5 years, that rises to a shocking 80-95%.

Preparing for a New You in ’22… and Beyond
It is for serious participants only, who are fully ready to invest in themselves to make the changes.
If you are accepted on to it, you must make a commitment to me, and to yourself, to see it through.
This is a five-week programme taught live on Zoom, twice a week from 4th January to 3rd February 2022.
It consists of eight online webinar sessions, two per week, each one costing less than the price of a takeaway for 2. You will start to uncover what’s holding you back from losing weight and take steps to transform your life! The assignments and resources provided are for you to keep for life.
It takes place over 5 weeks, with sessions held twice a week in weeks 1-3 and week 5, with week 4 a consolidation week with no sessions, so you have time to revisit all the exercises, and try things out, before setting your goals and making your plans in the final week, with my support.

Week 1
Session 1: Motivation and Commitment
Develop a long term vision, and find out why you want it
Find out whether it’s what you really want
Find out how much you want it
Find out what’s been holding you back
Find out how to increase your motivation and commitment
Learn the difference between motivation, willpower and discipline, and when and how to use them
Session 2: Self-belief and confidence
Build on previous experience of what has worked for you
Recognise your current strengths
Learn how to build new ones
Learn how to apply them to your weight loss journey and stop sabotaging your efforts
Week 2
Sessions 3 and 4: Ownership and Responsibility
Recognise that YOU are in the driving seat
Recognise emotional eating
Recognising your triggers and pitfalls when it comes to food, sticking to a regime etc
Learn how to sit with uncomfortable feelings
Learn how to make trade-offs and compromise
Develop ways to stay accountable without getting emotional
Week 3
Sessions 5 and 6: Knowledge, Skills and Tools
Develop strategies to work through or around obstacles
Learn how to plan, and put the right structures and support mechanisms in place for you
Improve knowledge of how weight loss works
Improve knowledge and skills around healthy eating
Improve knowledge and understanding of yourself
Learn top tips for reducing food intake without dieting
Learn how to get the best out of fitness gadgets
Understand the role of exercise in relation to weight loss
Week 4
No sessions. Consolidation week: opportunity to revisit all the mindset exercises.
Practice what you have learned so far, try things out and see what works, and what doesn’t work
Week 5
Sessions 7 and 8: Bringing it all together; goal setting and making plans
Reflect on and get feedback on consolidation week
Understand the pros and cons of different weight loss approaches
Choose the right approach for you
Understand the importance of flexibility
Set realistic goals (not idealistic ones)
Make your plans

Find your unique weight loss solution
If you’ve been struggling with your weight for a long time it’s a no brainer to do this, as it will go deeper than any diet you will have tried, and help you to change things at a fundamental level, so that you actually change what you want, and not just put a sticking plaster over things! This means that you reduce that conflict that you feel and temptations become so much easier to manage.
If you attend all the sessions and complete all the mindset exercises you will greatly enhance your chances of losing weight and keeping it off. It goes through all the steps you need, taking you through the YourOneLife Framework for Success.
The Programme is supported by access to a private Facebook Group and the YourOneLife Accountability Portal, where you can get support from me and the other participants, and make friends for life.
The webinar sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm for up to 90 minutes, except for week 4.
All sessions are recorded to watch on catch up if you can’t make the live sessions.
1-2 assignments are given to you per week, which you will need to complete in time for the next week in order to get the best from the programme but you will be given lots of support from me and the other participants.
