Your Guide to Motorcycle Training, Rider Confidence and Support

Whether you’re thinking about learning to ride a motorcycle, preparing for your CBT or motorcycle tests, returning to riding after a break, or looking to develop your skills and confidence, finding the right support can make a real difference.

Motorcycling has a fantastic community of instructors, training schools, organisations, clubs, charities and individuals who are passionate about helping people enjoy life on two wheels.

I’ve brought together a selection of motorcycle resources, organisations and businesses that I believe are worth knowing about.

Some are organisations I work with professionally. Others are people and businesses I’ve encountered through my own motorcycling journey, or resources that may be helpful to riders at different stages.

You’ll find information about motorcycle training, advanced rider development, motorcycle mindset and confidence, road safety, wellbeing, rider communities, events and more.

Important note: This page is not a complete list. It will continue to grow as I discover new resources and develop relationships across the motorcycle community.

Motorcycle Confidence and Mindset Resources

Motorcycle confidence can be affected by far more than practical riding ability.

Nerves before training, motorcycle test anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, fear following a dropped bike, pressure to progress and worries about road safety can all influence how you feel and the decisions you make.

Developing your mindset alongside your practical skills can help you understand these responses and identify appropriate ways forward.

Motorcycle Mindset Coaching with Claire Jones

Professional motorcycle mindset coaching for learner riders, newly qualified motorcyclists, returning riders and experienced riders who want to understand and address the psychological challenges affecting their riding.

My work focuses on confidence, nerves, pressure, risk perception, behaviour, decision-making and recovery from setbacks.

I work alongside motorcycle instructors and training schools, complementing the practical training they provide.

The book is recommended by motorcycle instructors, training schools and rider organisations across the UK.

It complements professional training and human support and should only be used when safely stopped, never while riding.

Finding the Right Support for Your Motorcycle Journey

There is no single resource, training course or approach that’s right for every rider.

What helps you will depend on your experience, abilities, concerns and what you want to achieve.

You might benefit from additional riding instruction, advanced training, information about managing risk, connecting with other riders or understanding the psychological factors influencing your confidence.

Sometimes a combination of these approaches is useful.

If you’re unsure what kind of motorcycle confidence support might be appropriate, you’re welcome to explore my free resources or arrange a conversation about the challenges you’re experiencing.
