Exercises Classes and Personal Training the YourOneLife Way
Want to get fitter and stronger, but don’t know where to start? Or perhaps you’d like to get more out of the exercise you’re already doing?
Maybe you’ve thought about joining a gym, but the idea of walking into a room full of machines and people who seem to know exactly what they’re doing feels a little intimidating.
Perhaps you’re already a gym member but would like to learn exercises you can do at home, on holiday or on the days when getting to the gym just isn’t practical.
Or maybe you’ve been meaning to start exercising for ages, but you’re unsure of your abilities, feel self-conscious exercising around others or simply don’t know where to begin.
At YourOneLife, building confidence, developing readiness and helping people become more independent have always been central to how I work. And exercise is no different.
The YourOneLife Way is about meeting you where you are, understanding what might be holding you back and helping you develop the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to move forward at your own pace.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already exercising regularly, you’ll have the opportunity to learn what your body is capable of, improve your technique and become more confident in your ability to exercise effectively.
Without feeling overwhelmed, intimidated or under pressure to keep up with anyone else.
So, what if all you needed was a mat, some resistance bands and someone to show you what to do?
That’s exactly what I’ll be offering at YourOneLife Studios in Dover from January 2027.
Personal training using your own bodyweight and simple resistance bands. No complicated equipment required.
You can improve your strength, fitness, balance, mobility and core stability without needing a room full of gym machines.
And don’t underestimate bodyweight exercises! They can be surprisingly challenging, with plenty of ways to adapt them as you become stronger and fitter.
One of the biggest advantages of this approach is that everything you learn can also be practised at home.
You’ll learn how to perform exercises correctly, understand which muscles you’re working, discover how to adapt movements to your abilities and develop the confidence to exercise independently.
And because you’re working with a qualified personal trainer, you’ll have someone to guide you, help you improve your technique and support you to progress at a pace that’s right for you.
Whether you want to exercise confidently at home, enjoy regular classes, complement your existing gym training or build up to joining a gym for the first time, there’s a place for you.
We’ll work on both your physical fitness and your confidence, so that you feel increasingly capable, prepared and comfortable exercising wherever you choose.
Because feeling ready, knowing what you’re doing and believing you’re capable can make all the difference to getting started, making progress and keeping going.

And if joining a gym is something you’d like to do, I can help you work towards that too.
We can build your strength, fitness, knowledge and confidence first, so that when you walk through the doors of a gym, you feel better prepared.
I already have good relationships with local fitness providers, including Hel’s House Gym here in Dover, where I have been a member since it opened several years ago, just around the corner from the YourOneLife Studios.
I’m keen to develop opportunities to work together to provide affordable access for the local population. I believe there’s real value in helping people find the right exercise environment for them, whether that’s at home, in a small group, at a gym or a combination of all three.

Who might benefit?
- You’re completely new to exercise and don’t know where to begin.
- You feel self-conscious or uncomfortable exercising in front of lots of other people.
- You’d like to build your confidence before joining a gym.
- You’re already a gym member but want to learn exercises you can do independently at home.
- You can’t always get to the gym and want to make sure you’re still doing something worthwhile.
- You want to improve your strength, balance and mobility as you get older.
- You’d like to learn proper exercise technique rather than following random online workouts.
- You enjoy exercising with others but prefer a smaller, more personal environment.
And yes, you can absolutely do this alongside your existing gym training.
In fact, the two can work really well together.
If you already enjoy going to the gym, learning bodyweight exercises can give you more options for those days when you’re short on time, travelling or simply want to do something at home.
You can also use these sessions to work on particular areas such as core strength, balance, mobility and movement confidence to complement your existing training.
There will be several ways to get involved at YourOneLife Studios.
1:1 Personal Training
Individual sessions tailored to your abilities, confidence and goals. Ideal if you’re just starting out, want personalised attention or have particular areas you’d like to work on.
Small Group Personal Training
Work alongside a handful of others while still receiving individual guidance, feedback and support.
Group Exercise Classes
Friendly, structured sessions focused on building strength, fitness, balance and mobility, with exercises adapted to different abilities.
All you need to bring is your exercise mat and resistance bands.
You can attend regularly, use the sessions to complement your gym workouts or come along to learn exercises you can confidently practise on your own.
And the skills you develop will stay with you long after the session ends.
For Gyms, Personal Trainers and Other Wellness Professionals
I’m keen to work collaboratively with local gyms, personal trainers and other wellness professionals.
For some people, my sessions may be a stepping stone towards joining a gym. For others, they may provide a useful complement to their existing gym training and other investments they are making in their health and wellbeing.
There are plenty of opportunities for us to support one another through mutual referrals, partnership working and collaborative activities, helping people access the right support for their needs, abilities and goals.
If you run a gym or work in the fitness and wellness industry in Dover or the surrounding area, and would like to explore ways we could work together, I’d love to hear from you.
