I have undergone training in nutrition coaching, financial coaching, life coaching, counselling skills, personal training and gym instruction, to make sure I can give you the very best service that I possibly can, so that you get the best results that you possibly can. My learning is continuing as I complete the rest of my Psychology Degree and undertake other continuing professional development courses to make sure I keep myself up to date. 

In addition to this I have over 20 years of management experience and working with people on a one-to-one basis. I have also worked with people with mental health issues and addictions. I have a huge amount of knowledge and experience in healthy eating, physical activity, setting and achieving my own goals and helping others set and achieve theirs. I am also divorced and (happily) remarried, and a parent of two grown up children, (although I spent several years as a single parent when they were young) and have experienced: 

overweight-related health issues,

yo-yo dieting,

smoking and not feeling able to stop,  

low self esteem,

negative body image,



being a single parent,

difficulties managing money,

being in a step-family as a child and a parent,

serious illness in the family,


irrational fears, 

addictive behaviours with food and cigarettes.

So I understand at least some of the struggles that we go through, and how they can make us take our eyes off the ball when it comes to looking after ourselves and our weight. I have learned how to overcome these struggles without damaging my health in the process, and have actually improved and maintained my physical and mental health greatly over the last 12 years. I am in control of my life instead of it being in control of me.

I am far from perfect but I am happy,  better able to cope with life's ups and downs, and try to make the most of my life and the opportunities that come my way!! 

I want to share what I have learned and support you to make the most of your life too, according to your needs and goals, whatever they might be, and stop your weight from getting in your way. What's included in the coaching sessions?

I recommend for weight loss that you start with my unique 8-session course to prepare you for your weight loss journey, before moving into ongoing coaching, if required. This is to put in the foundations that you will need to be successful. A house needs strong foundations to stay upright and intact no matter what conditions it is subjected to. The  same applies to your weight loss journey. You need strong foundations to be able to stay on track no matter what life throws at you. 

This involves 

  • assessing your current strengths and areas for development according to my unique approach that are vital for successful weight loss and maintenance;

  • looking at your current habits and behaviour and how they might be impacting on your weight, your life and your physical, mental and emotional health;

  • reviewing anything in your life that might be influencing them;

  • work together to see what you want to change and why;

  • identifying some achievable goals;

  • help you develop an action plan, tailored to you, to help you achieve your goals;

  • help you develop your own support system and provide you with some materials to support your progress;

  • work with you to help keep you on track.

The 8-session course might be enough for some people and all they need to set them on the right path, but others might wish to move into an ongoing coaching package, either 1:1 or as part of a group in my Monthly Membership programme, to help them to stay accountable to reaching their goals. 12 months is deemed to be the optimal time to commit to and achieve results that can be sustained for life. Also included in the ongoing coaching session priceI am also available via phone or message in between sessions to provide support, and aim to respond within 24 hours (usually it is much sooner).
