Busy Life? Here’s Why a Weight Loss Coach Matters More Than Ever
April 3, 2025
By Claire JonesIn the world of weight loss, motivation is often the spark that gets things started, but accountability is the fuel that keeps the fire burning.
Recently, after a powerful coaching session, my client Michelle reflected on her biggest takeaway with just three words:
“I need you!”
It wasn’t about dependency. It was a clear realization: having structured support, guidance, and accountability was the missing piece in staying aligned with her goals.
When Life Gets Busy, Goals Often Slip
Michelle had been navigating a whirlwind of travel and work demands. Although she had lost an incredible three stone so far, she considered pulling back on her coaching sessions to “make more time.”
But what she noticed was that less time for coaching didn’t actually create more space for her goals – it created more space for them to slip, and risked derailing her success. Thus potentially returning to old behaviours, and therefore regaining weight she’d worked so hard to lose.
Reconnecting With Her “Why”
When we met for her session, her weight had plateaued. She was still active, getting 20,000+ steps on busy days, but food choices were slipping in the chaos of exhaustion and travel. She was stuck in a cycle many know too well: the effort was there, but without clarity and structure, results weren’t following.
Choosing Accountability Over Isolation
During our session, we shifted gears. We didn’t just talk about weight loss. We talked about why she started this journey in the first place — health, confidence, mobility, family. We walked through the deeper “why,” and even reflected on the pain that comes with not achieving those things. Not to feel bad, but to remember what’s at stake and what’s possible with continued effort and support.
Most importantly, she made a clear decision: to stay consistent with her bi-weekly sessions. We even discussed the option of shorter weekly check-ins down the road if that felt more sustainable. The key was maintaining accountability, not removing it.
Leaving With a Clear Plan
Michelle left the session re-energised, with:
- A renewed connection to her personal reasons for losing weight
- A plan to focus on protein intake and calorie management
- Continuing her walking and step goals
- A commitment to attend an upcoming free workshop to refresh her motivation
And most importantly, she left with clarity and confidence.
Coaching Is More Than a Check-In
If you’ve ever felt like you “don’t have time” for coaching or accountability, ask yourself this: are you making space for your goals – or letting life crowd them out?
Coaching isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about having someone who listens, reflects things back to you, and helps you refocus when everything else is pulling your attention away.
It’s not just support. It’s structure, strategy, and mindset work — and it works.
You Don’t Need to Do It Alone
Life is full. Things get busy. But your health still matters, even in the busiest seasons. In fact, that’s often when you need support the most.
If you’re feeling stuck, inconsistent, or like you’re always starting over – maybe it’s not about trying harder. Maybe it’s about getting the right kind of help.
You don’t have to do this alone. Coaching offers you a way to stay connected, committed, and clear – even when life is a lot.
Because sometimes, what we really need to hear is:
“I’ve got you.”
And that’s exactly what coaching is for.
