Professional Body Memberships

I am a Fellow Member of the ACCPH and a member of the Association for Coaching, the General Hypnotherapy Register, and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.

I work within recognised professional, ethical, and evidence-based frameworks and undertake regular supervision and continuing professional development.

What Makes Me Competent to Do This Work

I bring together professional training, academic study, and lived experience to support people through change, particularly when confidence, fear, habits, or identity get in the way.

Qualified, Certified and Experienced

I hold qualifications across coaching, behaviour change, hypnotherapy, NLP, personal training, motivational interviewing, and wellness, with specialist training in obesity, diabetes, menopause, exercise psychology, and habit change.

My background includes senior leadership roles in the NHS, with Level 5 and Level 7 qualifications in management and leadership. I continue to invest heavily in CPD, supervision, and reflective practice to ensure my work remains safe, ethical, and effective.

Academically Grounded

I am nearing completion of a BSc (Hons) Psychology, including Sport and Exercise Psychology (distinction achieved). I also hold a BA (Open) and multiple postgraduate-level management qualifications. My work is informed by psychology, human factors, and real-world application, not theory alone.

Real-World Lived Experience

I understand change from the inside out.

I have personally navigated long-term weight loss, addiction recovery, emotional eating, smoking cessation, test anxiety, public speaking fear, and major identity shifts later in life. I have completed hundreds of endurance events, including 12 marathons, became a firefighter at 40, and passed my full motorcycle licence at 51.

That lived experience is especially relevant to the riders I work with. I understand the psychological load of learning to ride, managing fear, confidence drops, test pressure, and the gap between training and feeling competent in the real world.

Supporting Motorcyclists

I do not teach riding skills or replace professional training. Instead, I support motorcyclists with:

  • Confidence and anxiety around learning, testing, and returning to riding

  • Fear management and nervous system regulation

  • Overthinking, self-doubt, and performance pressure

  • Identity shifts from “learner” to “rider”

  • Making sense of uneven progress and confidence setbacks

  • Staying engaged with riding without burnout or avoidance

This work complements instructor-led training and helps riders get more from it.

Clear Scope and Boundaries

I am not a therapist, psychologist, dietitian, financial adviser, or motorcycle instructor. I do not diagnose, treat, or train. My role is to work with mindset, behaviour, habits, and confidence, and to refer on when something falls outside my scope.
