What to Expect
We’ll start with a short classroom session, then move into practical work, including:
- Why bikes get dropped (and why it’s more common than you think)
- How hesitation and pressure play into it
- Manual handling and control
- Safe, controlled practice picking bikes up in a supportive environment
There’s no pressure to perform and no judgment. You’ll work at your own pace throughout.
What to Bring
- Comfortable clothing suitable for movement
- Sturdy footwear (recommended)
- Gloves (recommended)
- Waterproofs in case of rain
You do not need to bring your own bike.
But if you ARE bringing your own bike and wish to use it:
- It must be in safe, working condition
- You use it at your own risk
- We may advise using training bikes for certain exercises
Important Information
- This workshop involves manual handling and physical activity
- You can opt out of any exercise at any time and simply observe
- Please follow all instructions given on the day for your safety
Filming
Parts of the workshop may be filmed for future promotion and to support our partners.
You’ll be asked to confirm consent. If you’d prefer not to be filmed, that’s absolutely fine – just let us know.
Before You Attend
You will be asked to complete
- a participant waiver
- a readiness for physical activity form for the practical work –
- a consent form to have your photo taken/be filmed (you can opt out)
Bring these with you, or complete them in advance if submitted digitally.

If you can’t attend, your place can be transferred to someone else, (and they will need to complete the above forms) but bookings are non-refundable.
